He has worked as a tightrope walker in traditional circuses and variety shows throughout the world and has also performed in many television shows including the famed Ed Sullivan Show in New York. A Guinness record holder for skips on a tightrope he has devoted his life to his art and his family. He first encountered Cirque du Soleil in 1987 when he was performing in Carmen at the World Expo in Vancouver. Soon thereafter, while appearing and co-directing Circus Senso, a new wave circus in England (a small scale Cirque du Soleil-type production) he met Guy Laliberté and Gilles Ste-Croix. They invited him to join Nouvelle Expérience as both the Grand Chamberlain and to perform a tightrope act with his son Nicky and daughter Sally. After touring with Cirque for several years, in Nouvelle Expérience and Fascination, he moved over to the artistic department and became artistic coordinator for both Mystère at Treasure Island and Saltimbanco in Europe. Brian also appeared in Alegria The Film as the character “Old Taps.” Brian then was asked to become artistic coordinator for Cirque du Soleil’s production “O” in Las Vegas. On January 6, 2000, still fueled with the passion of performing, Brian took the role of “Brian le Petit,” the anarchistic clown at Mystère. He’s performed in this role ever since, and is one of the focal points of Mystère in the show.
